Today I bought a big piece of driftwood for my South American Bio-Tope aquarium. I have it soaking in a big tub of water. How long do I have to soak it or can I put it in my tank?

I usually soak the dw for a few days with hot water so it would/could kill anything that's living in it, just incase. Other then that I usually don't mind the tanning from the dw all the fishes seem to like it as well.

I ended up adding it to the tank after about 5 hours of soaking. My royal pleco needed something to hide in. He'll have a hiding spot and a nice dinner too.
The wood came from my Local fish store and was never kept in an aquarium so this is the first one.
