Ok so the Accidental Aquarists just bought a used 100 gallon aquarium to house the severums that we suddenly became the caretakers of.

On the ride home I noticed white worms squiggling on the Uber dirty lid.

What in the heck are they and what do I do to kill them all dead? The man I bought it from said there wasn't fish in the tank for a couple of months but he left it full of water. He drained it just before we arrived 20181014_133841.jpg

Help me with your knowledge! You guys are awesome Thanks in advance

If you clean it really well afterward, you could use bleach

I’d just clean with vinegar and a razor for any hard buildups. Those worms aren’t anything harmful and will be eradicated just by cleaning the tank and letting it dry.

Small fish even eat them. If you notice them on the tank glass above the water level, it just means you may be over feeding and if you cut back on food they go away.
