i hate when this happens
i have 3 others and i they were fine
this one wont start
i hate my life and the lfs i bought it from
im so angry
anyone have a similar story or some tips on how to get this thing going

remebe4r i already own 3 of them and i can work them just fine
 
yah i know
but i live in a town just outside of the big city
and its a 1 hour drive both ways
i think these people should deliver me one since ive spent over 2 grand there this month and have been a loyal customer for 10 years ....but thats just me
and thank for the advice i didnt think of that.................lol............
 
i know i totally love my other 3 and the 2 404s that i have work great
today is just one of those days
i bought another tank a 110 and have all the biofilters from the old owner as it came with 40 fish wich i have temperarily stored in a 55 gallon but i would like to have them in the 110 asap as that is two small for that many small africans IMO
i filled up the 55 when i did a water change on my 165 so the water they are in is fully cycled

and i will be returning it ....buut if they do not give me a further discount on my filter then i will get a full refund and start shopping at another place ive been scoping so it will be theyre loss in the long run

i have a 165.....2 ,110 gallon a 75 gallon ...2 ,55 gallon .....and a 45 gallon all running so id probably do it if were them
 
I understand your frustration, but remember that no lfs tests the filters they receive from their suppliers. Therefore, it is not the store who is at fault for selling you a defective item, but rather the manufacturer. It is also not the stores fault that you live far from it. Perhaps you could contact Hagen directly and see what advice they offer.

Just tell them exactly what you just wrote above and maybe meet them half way.
 
blame fluval quality control not the pet store. call hagen and fire off on them maybe they will 'do" something nice like send you another filter and some media for the hassle.
 
well i was polite to my lfs because you get no where being rude and they are going to deliver me a new one

i wasnt upset with my lfs just the set of circumstances
have had to do a lot of returning and exchanging here
but i am happy now
