Works perfect just wondered if I set up properly. Used my current filters water to clean all the biomax and foam then rinsed it through with it the plugged her in n let her go. It's a 405 replacing one of two 205s

How big is the tank? If it's large and you still have one other "old" filter being used, I wouldn't worry about losing BB. I'm sure everything will be fine.

But, yeah, sounds like you set it up properly (to me, anyway)

You probably won't have any issues.

But, if it were me..

Well, I would have done a complete clean/disinfect on the whole thing.

Media and all would have got a bleach bath.

Just hate the thought of infecting my tank with some bug from somebody else s tank.

The tank is 5x2x2 and im still running a 205 aswell and a large powerhead with 750 ml bottle full of foam on the inlet for bio. So I do have quite a bit of bb in there.
