Afternoon all,

I think one or two of my white cloud minnows have gill flukes, after seeing flesh like protrusions at the gills.

Can anyone confirm or suggest an alternative prognosis? Secondly, I just got a new batch of cherry shrimp, is there a way of treating without killing the shrimp?

I've heard prazi doesn't affect them?

Thanks in advance

Prazi, according to a few sites, does not contain copper, and is good for flukes.

Don't take my word for it, but it should work

Prazi is shrimp safe. That very fat white cloud looks to be carrying internal parasite of some kind, she's a little too big to be just gravid IMO. As far as gill flukes, hard to say by picture but sounds plausible. I would run prazi/metro to rule out most issues.

You can do a formalin dip on the affected fish.

anchor worms should look like a fine strand coming from the gills. Metro or prazi will not touch that. You can use a combo of prazi and metro for many internal parasites and flagellate parasites.
From the picture it looks like the gill plate may be eroding? Is the protrusion ventral?
