somewhere
ok, so this guy is like, less than an inch long

what should i keep him in?
and would a filter be safe at this size
im assuming daphnia would be good food

and YES, im 100% sure its a bass

With his metabolism and how much you'll be feeding him, I'd start him in no less than 30 gallons. Once he hits about five inches, you'll probably want to upgrade again depending on how difficult it is to keep the nitrates low.

O_o

for a fish less than an inch?

You ever sit and watch a fish grow? At his age he'll be eating three times a day. That's a lot of poop. Unless you want to change half the water twice per week, 25 or 30 gallons will give you the optimum wiggle room for waste accumulation. I mean bigger is fine, too, if you've got the space. As long as the pH is stable and you never see ammonia or nitrites and the nitrAtes stay below about 20ppm, your fish should be in great shape. I guess I like to make things easy. Big tanks with small fish make everything easier, so why make it harder by using a "minimum" size?

A filter will be necessary. Bass are super-poopers.

hell do fine in a 30 not to small but not to big swimming room but just small enough for him to find food at least untill he gets biger than 3 or 5 inch then hell need some kind of monster tank probably

For now, yes. They could certainly be part of his diet. Earthworms are good, too, but messy. You could probably wean him onto pellets pretty easily, but I believe live food is important, especially for young fish. Hopefully, he'll eat both live and pellet for you.

for my bass that was around 1", he/she loved to eat baby guppies and liked eating small floating FLAKES. Worms were OK it only liked smaller worms and liked to chew them up and spit em out. try baby fish, mosquito larvae, flys, small crickets, flake food thats small and cruched up. That diet 2-3x a day would be more than enough. And rotate the foods out. Like feed flakes every day then mix in the fish and other things.

Isn't there a minimum size limit where you are?

I'm also guessing it wasn't caught with a hook and line, which is generally the only legal way to capture gamefish...
