Saw an ad on Craigslist and for $35 he will randomly catch 25 .5 inch mixed cichlids. Thought that’s seems like a pretty interesting deal, especially seeing that most cichlids can run around $10 for one. I’ll add a picture of what’s in the add.

It depends on what you want to do. If you're interested in breeding fish I would pass, but if you just want a colorful display go for it.
I agree with James, most likely a lot of mixed blood in that tank. We have a local guy that keeps Africans in a similar manner, pretty much clueless, mixes everything, and sells juvies cheap. IMO you would be better off buying from a breeder that sells higher quality fish.
Agree with James and RD. Just depends what you want. Cheap enough and okay for a tank of random colorful fish, some may resemble original species, but coming from those circumstances they're mostly 'mixed Africans', essentially, and can be a mix of almost anything.
