How big of a tank do you idealy need for a gar?
I am sure my tank is too small for one right now I have a 55gallon with a clown knife, tiger oscar and an ornate bichir they are all juvenilles. Will have to upgrade in a year or so I'm sure but I would love a gar at some point. Would they be a good tank mate for what I have or would it be a big NO NO?

basically, the wider the tank, the better.

gars are not very fexible fish.

a 55g can be used as a grow out tank, but you'll definitely want to upgrade later.

Thats what I figured I am interested in getting something else in the future just not sure what. Gars and arwanas are two of the monsters I really would like to have but dont think I would ever have a big enough tank for an arwana do not have the room.
