i just got my second senny and he has already made three little droppings in his tank in a couple of days (he's by himself so im sure its him) my other senegal, which i have had for a few months now, doesnt seem to poop at all, ever. he's healthy and all, eats well, plays well, lives well, but just doesnt ever seem to leave his business all over the place, or anywhere for that matter. do i just have a very clean senegal or is the other one just very messy, or somewhere in between? thats kinda annoying having all those black things all over my nice white sand. i might have to switch to black sand when i upgrade tanks.

Phoenix pooped a lot after eating beefheart. Jude's diet has mainly been bloodworms packaged in nutrient rich gel.

Hikari floating pellets is what mine is on and doesn't know when to stop eating, as far a mess, nahh not so much nothing like an oscar.

hmmmm ok, this is actually a good subject to experiment with. you know, which foods cause how much waste. and how consistent that is for a certain species. i dont have all the bichirs and what not to do an experiment like that but that would be interesting. maybe someone could just create a thread/survey for this to collect data from other MFK members instead of having to raise them all themselves lol. thanks for the info guys keep it coming.

mine doesn't make a mess from the aftermath lol, he makes a mess on the black sand with his chomping of food lol. he can take the tiniest piece of food and mess up the whole tank lol, it's those chomping jaws lol. but then again mines only about 4 in at the moment still a baby.
but you can't get mad with their messes, they're just too cute =]

ya it is hard to stay mad at them, i know for a fact. Jude once attacked one of my favorite fish before i kept him by himself - which is why i keep him by himself - and i was sooooo mad. but give it a little time and now he's my favorite fish. :D
