i just finished plumbing and starting up my sump. everything is going great with it except for one drain has a very slow drip. i would say one drip every ten seconds or so. is there anything i can put on it to stop the drip without having to buy a new bulkhead and re plumbing it? i will try to get pics up by the weekend. thanx in advance.

drip from the bulkhead? make sure the o-ring is seated right, hand tighten, make sure ur pipe coming out is fastened to something. the weight of the water will cause it to tilt and drip. then if it still has a small drip it will go away in a day or two.

it is leaking where the drain pipe is glued into the bulkhead. the actual bulkhead is fine. but if the leak cant be fixed i will have to buy a new bulkhead to fix the problem. i wasnt sure if there was a putty or epoxy or something to put around the joint that would stop the leak. kinda like jb weld for pvc. any thoughts?

I had a small leak on one of my bulkheads due to a crack from "possibly" over tightening. I had to buy a new generic bulkhead and replace the old one. Take off your bulkhead and examine it closely. You may want to check your gasket and/or replace it. Some folks use silicone to get a sealed fit, however I choose not to. If your bulkhead is the correct size and you have a new gasket, you should not have a leak.

It took me quite some time to fine the small crack in the bulkhead. I must have plumbed that sump five times before I figured out where the leak was coming from. I use barbed and threaded fittings, so I did not have to cut or replace any pipes so that helped my cause immensely.

Good luck!

i can see the leak, it is not the bulkhead. it is functioning as it should. the pipe that is glued into the bulkhead, actually the joint that is made by this, is what is leaking.

using pvc? try rain-r-shine pvc cement. it work when wet and works dang good. just apply it around the pipe it will seal.

Hey you blind fool!
Did you tighten that bulkhead nut and fix that leak? Or is it still dripping?
Next time use the flashlight to check for the leaks so you can see where it is coming from.
