and I think I'm at 100 posts. anyway, About 4 or 5 months ago my friend and I built/dug a podn in his backyard. By my calculations its about 500- 600 gallons. anyway we filled it with platies, mollies and some cory cats. then one of the cats in that area or maybe a raccoon knocked the pump line to the filter out...yep empty pond. well not empty there were several dead mollies and platies and the cory cats were in a little puddle still kickin'. we weren't overly concerned about the mollies and platies as they were basically in there to help get the pond nice and established for some natives.
now our dilemma was we didn't know a lot about keeping natives (unless we were going to eat them or if they were native snakes/lizards) and then I found MFK. I love this site and I am now working towards a monster tank or two.
now the pond houses a florida gar, two armored cats and a couple bluegills. it is also about to be made larger.
