Just got a ck

yesterday i went to petco and saw this clown knife, it had a different pattern compared to the normal spots this one has vertical stripes, so i figured hey it might be a royal, so i came home googled royal clown knifes and now im pretty happy since i saved money=) but this little guys like 4 inches and i was wondering should i try bloodworms and pellets/crumbles or smaller krill or does it not matter?

bloodworm and krills are fine., but maybe u should train it first..

CKs at that size love frozen bloodworms. Congrats if you got a Royal. At 4" it should be easy to tell the difference between a Royal and a CK. CKs have stripes when they are young though.

Mine had stripes when I got it too. Looked like a young royal, but it's about 7" now and he has very defined spots. I love how the spots develope. It's an ever changing pattern.

He won't touch krill or plankton. Only frozen bloodworms and chopped red worms/nightcrawlers.

is there a special way to get them to eat bloodworms? or will they jsut go after it right away

Since it's new...I would feed it at night before lights out. The are very shy when they are introduced into a new tank, but over time, they'll come out and feed during the day.
