I might get chewed out for saying this but it depends on the cichlid it self. I have had some cichlids that supposedly were supposed to harm my bichirs but really pushed them (not bite or harm them in anyway) away from the area. So i think that if you feed everyone well and you have a big enough tank it would be fine (remember this is my opinion only)
 
I have a small jd with my sen and the jd doesn't bother the sen at all. My friend had a huge jd with his sen and they r fine together also
