Couple that with the 3.5' final size... so most keepers go with a one-fish tank. It may be much, much calmer in a big pond wherein it would not claim the whole pond as his territory.

Good to see someone who does their homework.

By big pond, I meant something like 5000-10,000 gal at least to let other fish have bottom space. With 1000 gal, this fish when grown will likely claim the whole thing, well, the bottom of it anyway.

They are definitely a cool fish to keep

I had go give my 12" up coz he was terrorizing the whole of my 522 and I still miss him to date
