Just got a Texas cichlid! pls ID and sex?

Hey guys, I just got a texas and not sure why species of texas. Can you ID it and sex if possible. its about 3.5-4"

That is not an Escondido. From that picture I would say it's a male Herichthys carpinte.

Heres a better picture.

The base color is sorta an Olive green with light blue squiggly pearls.

Male or Female??
