Just got back from a local reptile show. One of the best ones we have had locally yet.

There was a lot of nice stuff there. One of the vendors had about every morph of ball python, and some of the prices made my mouth drop. They also had some nice emerald tree boas for $250, but unfortunatly I didn't have the money. Also there was a nice woma python there that I wanted but not for $1000.

I did get pissed though when I came to one vendors table and he had about 60 nile montiers for $40 each and an alligator for $90. Now the moniters were selling like crazy which made me mad casue most of them won't even be housed properly, and people who can house an alligator are a dime a dozen.

As for me I picked up a female bearded dragon, and a blood python. I will try and get pics up later.

Aren't alligator protected and require a permit to own?

Not in michigan, or at least I don't believe so.

Usually they are at every reptile show, but there are around $200 which deters a lot of people. But with this one being only $90 but I'm sure somebody is going to buy it and it will end up with a slow demise.

seems like a pretty pricey show.....good pickups though, I agree with you on the alligators though.....they sell babies around here for 20 bucks............

I don't believe alligators or caimans or crocodiles should be sold at all.

They should at least require a DWA permit...

I'm not much of a lizard person; nothing against them but they're just not for me. But blood pythons kick ass. I got a hatchling three and a half years ago and she's now a 66" monster-sized puppy dog...my pride and joy:)

I love snakes, too bad the people involved in my life hate them or hate the diet they are on. :angryfire That... and I haven't figured out on an idiot-proof feeding system for them yet.
