This fish is only a little over 4 inches right now but hes very aggressive. I had just fed him a ghost shrimp and then a small goldfish. This fish is ALWAYS hungry, even when his belly is bulging. Hes always looking for food and begging me for more food.

Anytime anything goes in the tank that moves, he will charge and destroy. Even sometimes I see him going after plant debris and stuff like that. If he sees it moving he thinks its food.

Well, I had just fed him. I had my finger in the tank and was rubbing something off on the inside of the glass. Next thing I know the fish charged in and planted his whole mouth down on my finger. It was so fast I could move my finger in time, but I also didnt expect this to happen. But right when he bit i took my finger out immediately. I didnt feel teeth but the bite was kinda strong for his size. I wasnt bleeding but my finger feels a little weird.

I was thinking to myself why did he bite me? Was it because hes so aggressive and was basically telling me to keep my hands out? I actually think he made a mistake and though my finger was food. Because I only had one finger in and my finger was at the top and I was moving it on the glass. So I figured he thought it was food.

It was actually kind of cute. I cant believe he did that. Alot of times when I have my hands in the tank cleaning stuff, he never swims away, he hangs out right by me and sometimes even creeps forward slowly thinking I am gonna give him soemthing. Some times I even rub him with my finger.

Good thing he didnt have any teeth, all I got was a bite but no blood.

that's cool.....I got one too nice color on this guy perfect finage; but very shy........but also very very hungry

Yeah, all this one does is want food. He always hangs by the top and if he sees me he goes crazy and wants food. But hes very aggressive when he eats. Its like if he sees something move he goes for it.

Probably mistook it for food. I kept a bass at work that did that pretty often. If you touched the surface he was right there instantly

Yeah I just tested him again. Put my finger in and he charged it fast. Put it in again and wiggled it around and he charged again. So I put 2 fingers in at the opposite of the side he was on, took him a few seconds to recognize it then started to go towards it. I dont know why hes getting like this. It must be from him being so hungry all the time. His belly is bulging yet he still wants more.

I have a puffer that does that. The only difference is, he won't attack right away, but after he gets over his curiosity stage, he gets mean (down the the bone one time!)

Chinese Perch aren't the brightest fish in the world LOL. Mine would investigate my arm every time I stuck it in the tank. I'm glad he didn't bite!

Yeah I been cautious this last few days. He still investigates or charges when he sees my hand but if I have my whole hand or arm in the tank he backs off. But I was cutting some plants in the tank and he charged in like he was gonna bite me, so I moved my hand at him to kinda scare him back. Hes just hungry and aggressive when i9t comes ot food. He hangs out at the top just waiting for food and anytime a finger or hand or plant debris moves around he charges it thinking its food.

But I leanred how to deal with it, as long as I put my whole hand in and let the fish know its me, he wont bite. But if he sees a finger moving around he'll go for it. He's still small about 4 inches so the bite wasnt that bad. I didnt feel any teeth. Bt I think when they get bigger they get some. Its kinda crazy how some fish will bite or mistaken you for food. Or maybe they are jsut that aggressive and bite regardless.

haha.
thats cute. :D
2 of my wolves have been charging at my hand for the past fw days.
they recognize me as their source of food.
hope they dont bite. :grinno:
