Hi! i have a 4x1.5x1.5 tank, overhead filter(2tierx3columns), dymax pump (50ltr/min) but the rain bar doesn't fill to the end is that alright? or do i have to get a stronger pump. and there are little leaks inbetween some of the pipings is it advisable to get teflon tapes(plumber tapes)? i'm afraid that in the tapes might contain some deadly chemicals that would pollute the water.

Fix the leaks for sure, and yes teflon tape is OK to use, as it is used in potable water applications(food use).

If when it doesn't leak and there is still not enough pressure, you may need a bigger pump or smaller diameter plumbing to the rain bar(less water weight pumping against gravity).

What is the pumps rating at the height your using it at? This is known as head pressure, it is the actual usable gph/lph when the pump is installed and pushing water uphill. 50lpm is static no load rating...

Oh and pictures would be helpfull. ;)

I agree with this, except for the part about smaller diameter tubing.

To increase flow rate you would want to INCREASE the size of the tubing. The smaller the diameter of the tubing the greater the frictional loss will be and the less flow you will achieve. Tubing diameter has nothing to do with head pressure, only the difference in height between the intake and outflow will change the head pressure.

So this isn't a viagra ad?

ok done with the tapes and the rain bars are flowing till the end, do they have to fill up the entire rain bar? or just as long as they flow till the end its fine? didn't know these little leaks could cause so much trouble lol

Could be as simple as hole size.
Larger holes at the end, smaller at the beginning.

the rain bars come in a standard size unless i seal them up.
ok i just poured some bacteria in to start the cycle and it turned a little cloudy, its normal for it to happen right?
