keep temp high around 86F to prevent ick

my pbass have never been above 82f and they never got ich...most of the bass ich cases come from non-qted feeders not lower temps...

dang since i live in hawaii my reg tank temp stays at about 82-86, is it ok for these temps?
now that its summer its stays constant at about 84.

also, if i got them on little bits of pellets now, will they still accept them as whole pellets when they grow older?

Update: one peacock bass died, its body showed black marks and i quarantined it, the fish still died...

so i still got 4 peacock bass alive and well, i think these four will survive because they are eating well and swimming good.

also is it normal for them to put the bits of pellet in their mouth, chew it for a few seconds then spit it out?

First tip is: Post pictures. The cichla crew is really picky about stuff like this.

Second tip: Since your in Hawaii, start building your pond......NOW. Not for the fact that they will out grow your tank, it's just because these little guys are addicting.

Third tip: Catch me some cichla from Lake Wilson and ship um'.
