my husband and i currently have a 55 gal w/ 2 oscars . while we were at the petshop we saw "mahal" the silver arrow and decided we were not leaving w/o her. Anyways, i put her in the tank and my 2 oscars (4") started attacking her :irked:

I know this is too small for the arrow and we do plan to get her to atleast a 175 gallon tank in the near future. But anyways, she was bitten a couple of times and I have decided to use a tank separator.

My fish hasnt eaten yet since she was put in there....hope she's ok

i would def get her her own tank real soon
how big is she

It may take a long time for the little aro to start eating, they are fragile at a small size. How did you acclimate the fish, and what are you offering for food?

i left the bag floating in the tank for about 10 mins then opened it and put some of my tank water and slowly poured the whole thing in my tank.

The fins are not really that bad. It just hurt looking at the 2 o's attack her....

next time when you acclmate make sure you have a bucket so you can pour the water into it

1-pour water from bag with fish in it
2-start adding a little of your water every like 5-10mins
3-add enough so it is almost totally your tank water and then add the fish in the tank

that is what i do it takes a little longer but there is more chance of your fish living

"mahal" ? that means "love" or "expensive" in Filipino.....

yeah my husband named her mahal cause she is the most expensive fish in our tank ;)

anyways, just woke up and stared at the fish for awhile and noticed something weird. Mahal's left eye seems to be bulging out and the right one is not. is this normal?

I dont have pics but its almost like my oscar's eyes. should i return her and get exchange for a better one? is that what they call drop eye?

ps. my o's are 5 inches
