I was thinking of setting up my 125 gallon in my condo but was just told that the floor would not be able to handle that weight. I was advised to keep it at 1000 pounds and under.

So, that plan is out the window but I now can sleep a lot better knowing that my tank will not end up in my neighbors house.

Could you imagine what that would look like in terms of damage, still upset though :(

As long as the tank is placed across the floor joists direction wise, I have a hard time believing that the floor will not support it.

that sucks man, thank god i was on ground level when i lived in an appartment. I had a 240, 150, and 40 set up and my roomate had two 55s and a 46 bowfront. All squeezed in the living room.

Yeah, I am upset but to be honest I rather be safe then sorry. Now my wife is questioning getting a 75 because it is not much bigger then the 55 in her eyes. She has a hard time with spending more money on the tank, stand and additional filtration when it will not be a center piece in our new home.

looks like I will have another LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOng talk with the wife tonight. lol

ya i agree that sounds fishy to me as well, dam if you build across the beams u could build any thing even a space ship..ha ha

Ground level !!!!!!! LOL I would needed two guards with dogs and additional in-home security!!! lol my wife is paranoid, she thinks people will look into our windows even though we live in a private community in a great area in the sticks.

Sometimes I wonder...
