I bought some live brine shrimp from an lfs. I'd like some info on how to keep these things alive, maybe even to reproduce and get a steady population going. I have aquarium salt (for freshwater, not the marine stuff) and idk how much to put into the water for the shrimp. At the lfs, the guy scooped some water from a saltwater tank to put the shrimp in. So, i'm assuming i need to get saltwater-like parameters? I know i should have an airline bubbling in the tank with brine shrimp, and that's about all i know. Should i put it in a dark place? light place? do i need to feed them something? etc Any help would be.... helpful. tia.

The workers at my lfs don't have food for the live brine shrimp I get, so mine start dying off after a week...I wouldn't try to breed them, just get brine shrimp eggs.

If your looking to keep them alive put them in a 2 liter bottle and then hook up an airpump to provide some oxygen. DO not overfeed nrine shrim because it will turn into nitrates.

1 tablespoon of brine shrimp will last a long time even when being fed to 7 fishes. i'm almost confident that more brine shrimp will die in the keeping tank than die from being eaten. i just want to keep as many alive as possible as long as possible.

You really want the babys for feeding, it really enhances the colors of the fish. You should have two brine shrimp hatchery's. So you can dump one and still have food.
