just got the 180 set up

Got the 180 up and running but am trying to figure out the heating

With the sump the tank is roughly 220 gallons. How much watts of heating should i put into the sump to heat the 180?

Thanks. (Room temp is about 62 degrees in winter)

I do 1 300watt in sump and one in tank and I insulate stand

i use one 300w in the 195 tank... but i guess i would go with Bayarea if ur in cold place...

Always best to do 2 heaters in case 1 goes out....I'd do 2-250W....

alright thanks guys. right now i have 3 heaters in the sump; 200 watt and 2 100 watts.

Ill buy another big heater later today

you should see if that much is necessary, i have 2x 150 watts and 2x300 watts i use the 150's to keep the temp at 79 and the 300's to get the temp to stay above 75 or so when i do water change.
