Got any clearer pics? Definitely Central American...Looks like a hybrid. Coloration looks like a Mayan or Festae crossed with a Flowerhorn. It doesn't have a defined tail-spot, which Festae and Mayans have...but rather its spots trail off like a Flowerhorn. It does have very nice spangling and a y-bar (both are Festae traits it might have got from one of its parents). I'm sure if it is an actual non-hybrid species.....someone will recognize it. If you are able to grab a clearer shot, it would help a lot
It's definitely Central American. In my opinion, if it were a "pure" species, it closely resembles Amphilophus lyonsi. A clearer picture would help with identification. Then again, in this day and age, it could be a hybrid, and if so, there's no telling what mish-mash it's made up of. Here's a 'lyonsi' pic (not mine, but from the 'net)
