Just got three of these...

Just been down lfs and picked up 3 of these little dudes for £5.
My bristlenose needed a bit of a hand cleanin up my algae, so I thought these would help..
Sold as Japonica algae eating shrimp, I've seen they are also known as Amano shrimp. Any tips on keepin them healthy..?

Can't say that I have had them myself, but I've heard they are some of the best algae eating shrimp you can get. They are $4 each in the States.

Ok, here's a little bit of info. I had posted a while back. I was planning on adding more, but the thread starter didn't need additional info. so I left it at that. Hope this helps some. If you need more, just let us know -k-.

Thanks for that...had a look at the thread you listed.
Have no idea if the little guys are still in there - havn't seen them for a couple of days - might have got munched or maybe just hidin out in the plants somewhere.
My tanks got a lot of hiding places.
Just have to wait and see. Hope they're okay, cos I'd like to get some more!

That was weird. Just looked in the tank and there was two of the little dudes sittin in the corner in some plants...so they ARE still alive!
Excellent!
Keep forgettin how small they are...less than 1".
Might get another three now...

Finally got to see that all three of the little dudes are still alive and well...phew!
I'll definetly need to get some more now! Don't think they are too hard to breed either...I can see another project looming...
