Just got two FX5.. assembling first one... the aquastop valves don't seem to want to turn at all. they are like.. stiff? they are in the full-open position from when I took them out of the box. what's up with that?

Not making you sound dumb but are you turning the right way? Mine were really tough when I got mine. Took some muscle.
wow thanks, yes i was turning it the right way, i just didnt expect it to be so tight. I gave it more muscle and it worked... I got it to work by running hot water over the outside of the valve, then cold water through the open valve.. then it turned rather easily. Guessing since outside casing expanded and inside contracted
They'll loosen with time. I bought a used one and they were still really hard to turn. So much so that I'm close to breaking them.
I just started my FX5 yesterday and couldn't turn the valves. Seems to be working wonderfully, except for that. You're saying they'll loosen with time? Is it the usual right closed, left open?
Yeah...they can be pretty stiff right out of the box. After the first turn, they'll start to loosen up.
