just had an idea for a setup..

Curious if its even possible though. i was wondering if i set up a larger tank, and put a pair on convicts and a pair of salvini in in. is there any dithers or catfish that would help control population and not get destroyed. my goal is to create an enviroment big enough to where the pairs still come out to make sure the terriory is doing good and just chase away the dithers. and have the dithers/catfish eat the fry. is there any peaceful way i could make this happen? would i need something really big, like, 180+.

A tank that size could support a convict territory and have other fish in amongst them, the convicts would chase the others when they entered there territory but its so big they wouldn't get overly aggressive. Can't suggest any dither fish, something big and hardy, and peaceful, maybe geos? Sounds interesting, the convicts would be pretty happy with all that space but would breed like crazy.

I think a pair of convicts n salvini would work.... catfish? How about a raphael cat? Dithers? Not too sure... maybe some rainbow fish?
