:ROFL:I wasn't aware turtles could climb fences

I've watched a Wood Turtle climb a 6 foot chain-link fence before. Turtles with smaller plastrons (such as snappers) are some of the best climbers.

What amazed me was it had to CLIMB a 7 inch step from my lanai after escaping the tank(lol) to get to my bedroom with nothing but a vacuum cleaner power cord hanging down....simply amazing to me.

I always wonder how they can position themselves like this, you wouldn't think they'd really be able to reach under their shells to position themselves..

Snapping turtles and musk/mud turtles are some of the best turtle climbers due to the small plastron, as vicious_fish said.

I've had many snapping turtles scale fences and walls that you'd never think they could get out of.
