Just how rainbow-y are "rainbow shrimp" ?

I have seen some lovely photos of "rainbow shrimp" but is it really common to have nicely colored specimens or is it rather occasional to have one that may have a nice color?

Also, are these the same as malaya shrimp? Common names are so confusing and it seems like there are a few types of shrimp called "rainbow shrimp."

Which species is the most colorful of the types called "rainbow shrimp"?

there are several species labeled as "rainbow" shrimp, most have a wide range of color.
