Just Let It All Dry Out..

I was considering letting my tank and filtration completely dry out to kill these parasites in it. I want to start over anyway and get new fish.

how long do you think i should let it sit dry for to ensure the parasites die?
Am i correct in assuming that this will kill them all?

It may not kill them all. If you are going so far as to tear down the tank, then you might try giving the tank a good cleaning with bleach and then rinsing it out.

Good luck getting rid of planaria if thats what your referring to, they are forever.

No its not planaria. These things look like it, but they have hooks on the end!

So how should i clean my canister filter? Fill it with super hot water?

IMO, I would bleach it all and rinse it really well.

theres a solution you can make with bleach, cannister is where its gonna be, i cleaned a 55 gallon and still have planaria i think with parasites theyre eggs can lay dry and dormant.

Ok. Will bleach mess up the foam pad screens in the canister?

No, they should be OK, just dilute the bleach down. I've done it numerous times.
