hi there, i'm not a new comer to the aquarium hobby, and especially not to keeping the monster variety. I'm in the process of setting up a 120 gallon to move my violet goby, otherwise known as a dragon fish into, seeing as how he is now 19" in lentgh and in a 55 gallon at this time. I am going to be adding a silver arowana to the tank and would like some ideas on suitable tanke mates. I don't wish to overcrowd the tank, and i certainlly don't want to create a hostile environment for my fish. Any uncommon fish would be appreciated, as i have a pension for the unknown. Thanks for your time, hope to hear some great ideas soon.

I wouldnt recomend any arowana for life in a 120, and i'm unsure of the gobys temperment so i cant help you there....but im sure there are people who can

Welcome to MFK by the way:)

i'm sorry about the mix up, but i seemed to have hit the wrong keys when entering the size of the new tank. It's not 120 gallons as previously stated, but rather 210 gallons, which is a much happier environment for the arowana i wish to keep. Sorry for the mix up. And to the matter of the Violet Gobies temperment, he is a filter feeder and hangs out mostly at the bottom of the tank. His tank mates now consist of 1 6" Angel, 1 4" Opalescent Gourami, and several average sized Tetras and Danios, as well as 2 dwarf puffers. He has yet to show any aggression towards any of them, and I have been it's proud owner for approx. one year now. His only requirments thus far is a cave of sorts for him to relax in. Again thanks for your suggestions.

That sounds more like it!! lol

With something like that it sounds like a silver or black aro would be the perfect tank mate. also from my experience clown kinves or a chinese perch would work well too!

i like the clown knife idea
