Just lost my fire eel :(

Had him for 4 years and he reached 28". He was eating like a truck and was faaat. He was the most active fish in the tank and he would be the first to greet you when you walk in the room. Poor guy jumped the other day during one of the earthquakes we had. Unfortunately no one was home and he was all dried up by the time anyone got home He somehow got through the small gap where the glass lid meets the filter intake tube. Learn from my mistake, cover ALLLLLL holes, even ones that seem too small for them to fit through. So sad.

Dude that sucks. I came hm to find all of my fish dead a few weeks ago. I know how you feel. Id compare my fish to a dog . Sry for your loss

Sorry to hear. I learned real fast to cover every hole possible. I use packaging tape around small areas that anything could escape

Been there gone through it,most devastating day of my life when I woke up to my eel that ALWAYS came up to the tank to greet me,I tried diff eels and none never compared to grievous AT ALL. sorry for your loss,unfornutally I never purchased another eel ever again till today that is but as a gift for my daughter in her tank lol
