Had him for 4 years and he reached 28". He was eating like a truck and was faaat. He was the most active fish in the tank and he would be the first to greet you when you walk in the room. Poor guy jumped the other day during one of the earthquakes we had. Unfortunately no one was home and he was all dried up by the time anyone got home
He somehow got through the small gap where the glass lid meets the filter intake tube. Learn from my mistake, cover ALLLLLL holes, even ones that seem too small for them to fit through. So sad.
