100_1372.JPGrip lil guy. he was about 6 inches. i dont know how this happened. ammonia 0 nitrites 0 nitrates under 10. he was fine this morning and greeted me for food at the top as usual. im thinking he may have gotten beat up by another tank mate. but no marks. i dont know. its just frustrating.

Sad to hear. :(

thanks, i buried him in my back yard. i knew i kept those fish food containers for a reason. its for the fish that are too big to flush..

i never lost a big fish before. it kinda sucks harder than i thought. i feel like it was a puppy or something. he was one of my first cichlids. i got a group of three of them and the other two are acting fine. just saw him layin on bottom and my heart dropped. im not crying my eyes out or anything, but that definitely made me feel cruddy.

probably the one disappointing thing about fish keeping, when bigger fish that you have raised since they were small die:( sorry for your loss

Sorry for your loss. Sometimes they just randomly pass on, other times they may get hit by one of the other fish and it doesn't even leave a mark. It could have been anything.
