I have a 90 gallon aquarium housing 2 adult oscars, and after much reading I have realized that I am under filtered. I am currently running an ac 110, an emperor 400 and a sponge filter. I know oscars are dirty fish, so I was thinking of getting another ac 110 from petsolutions for more mechanical filtration, and a sunsun/perfect canister loaded up with bio media. Does this sound like enough filtration?

I plan on ditching the emperor, I hate it haha

The emperor on its own is rated for a 90gal. As long as you keep on top of water changes and regular maintenance you should be ok. If your parameters start getting a little off, then I would upgrade. On my 90 growout tank I have 150gal 3 stage filtration betwenn two filters and iv never had water quality issues, but I do 35% weekly water changes and keep the tanks super clean. (im a neat freak)

I'm doing 40-60% water changes every week, I have a tetra test kit that I check nitrates nitrites and ammonia, but I really don't trust it. are API master test kits a good kit?

The API kits are great. They're pretty much the industry standard, and you see them everywhere.

Your tank doesn't sound under-filtered to me! But it can't hurt to add more, really.
