just need a little help with my 29 setup

HI, I just got a 29 gallon tank with a topfin 30 filter, marineland heater, 25 pounds of gravel, koralin nano power head, and decor not much now but will add more later. just look to know what fish i can keep in this tank i have a 55 thats 8 years old that i was thinking of taking some of the african cichlids from and putting them in the 29 but it would only be the babies that are now around 1" to 2" crazy and there big old dad is around 4" , anyways im not sure if this is the right thread for this room but its mostly a filter question and if its going to be to handle cichlids for a year or 2 it would mostly be the female young and the male young would stay in the 55 i may put 2 in but no more, oh ya also the filter is rated at 180gph which is an ok turnover rate but thats y the powerhead is there to help move a little more water. thxx for the help not a newb just really not sure and i am questioning if this filter can hold up, see my point. but any help will help
