Coming back to the experts on MFK just for some reassurance on pretty much my favorite fish I have which is a 4-5 inch green phantom pleco, L200. Below is what I'm feeding him and how often. He appears very healthy but not as "round" as I have seen others and does not have a sunken belly. His color is a very striking and vivid green. One other note: I was awakened last night, (this tank is in my bedroom) to the sound of scratching and biting sounds in the tank. I turned on a light in another room adjacent so I could see what the heck was going on and when my eyes adjusted, there he was, going to town on a new piece of driftwood I added to the tank a week ago. I could actually see (and hear) him biting the crap out of the wood. I have mopani wood in the tank but this piece I added is a softer bogwood I added to compliment the tank and apparently he finds it very tasty. My question is: Is it normal for this pecies to eat alot of wood? And, is my diet offerings enough? Thanks.
Almost forgot, he is housed with a Bolivian ram colony, various tetras and 14 cory cats.
