just netted a chain pickerel

just netted myself a chain pickerel yesterday. he is about 7 inches and is already eating monster guppies after a day in the tank. he is pretty much a beast and they are everywhere around my dock at my house just chillen in like a foot and a half of water...i plan to catch many more of them

pics soon to come...i have an 8 foot sane and much to my dismay i was using it by my self and he though he was hiding near this huge plant and i just surrounded the plant and he darted into the net (extremely lucky) i challenge anyone to try and do it cause i doubt ill ever get that lucky again lol however i could catch tons of them with some assistance

If you really want to catch them by yourself go get a cast net. It will be a lot easier then using a sane by yourself.

haha yea i know, my brother or roomate will normally help me but there were like 10 of them just chillen in that shallow water so i had to try and catch one and i was by myself

yeah i use a 4 foot seine or a 12 inch dipnet....cast nets are hard from what i hear.
