I'm super stoked. I ordered an FX5 because I've been having water clarity issues with my 500. I'm hoping this will clear things up. My wet-dry does a good job with bio-filtration but I suspect that the filter pad in there isn't cutting it as fas as mechanical filtration goes. I plan to run the FX5 without media and with fine filter pads with the input and output in my wet-dry. I'm hopeful this will do the trick. The only thing I'm dissapointed with is that the filter is only rated at roughly 900 GPH empty. I've got to question how they can advertise this as a filter for up to 400 gallons tanks. I don't think that is enough turnover.
Anyway. I ordered it through Overstock.com, it was the cheapest I found it on the internet. Filter was $230, shipping only $1 and I saved 10% as a new customer with a link through savings.com. I think this was a pretty good deal. I'm sharing it so others can pick one up if they agree.
