Ok, here are a few more pics. He hasn't been in the tank more than a week and every so often he seems a little skittish. For example, I was using a net to get rid of the uneaten pellets and he would literally be examining the net as if he wanted to take it and do the work for me. Then, at times if I simply get up from my chair he jets to a corner of the tank to hide. I'm thinking it's because he's never really had a lot of space all to himself before? I bought him from a FH dealer/breeder who pretty much had all of them in 4ft tanks with dividers and such.

I've noticed that there are so many different types of FHs. After doing a google search I'm reading everything from "Faders" to something called a "Golden Monkey," that i've seen on one of these web sites. After checking out this forum for a few weeks, it seems like the most common ones here are ZZ's, RD's and Faders. Can someone help me identify or understand how to differentiate between the strains? For example... if mine is a ZZ Pearly Red Dragon; how is that different from a normal RD? Or even a Super Red Dragon? Also, the common ZZ FHs that Petsmart sells... is ZZ the actual name for those guys or is there more too it?

I've had S/CA Cichlids for years now but I'm new the FH's so I'm still trying to learn a lot more about this unique fish. The one pictured above is actually my 2nd one... the first one unfortunately didn't do too well after I left for vacation for a few days.

I'm "thinking" about introducing a female Red Dragon that I'm looking into buying but I'm not sure yet... This guy has been in the tank by himself for about 2 weeks now; what do you think... is it too early to introduce a potential mate? Also, I know it's hit and miss... but what are the chances of them even pairing up?
