yay just picked up a 240 72x36x24! with a sump and bio balls for 200 bucks but needs resealing, bulkheads, pumps and a stand. Just wondering what would I need to do to hook up an FX5 to the bulkhead, considering they are 2inches wide. Planning on running 3 FX5 and 2 405. or would it be easier to just use the sump.
Im pretty new to sump, wet/dry.. all my filters been canisters.

Awesome deal and sweet footprint!

I may be the only person here that thinks so but I'd go the FX5 route, only no need to do 3 and the 405's.

I'd do two FX5's and hard pipe them at 1" then put in 2" to 1" adapters at the bulkheads, build your own spray bar and intakes via Home Depot.

Keep us posted on the build!

72x36x24 is actually a 270g not a 240g but hey that better for you lol.
as for filtration i'd go with a sump but if you already have the 3 fx5s
you should hook up all 3 and still connect a sump! lol you can never
have too much filtration! plus you can use sump for pure bio/chem &
use the fx5s for pure mech/polish, maybe even turn one fx5 into a home
made spray bar...

I would like pictures as well as I wanted to run an fx5 straight to my bulkheads as well..
