So I picked up a baby silver arowana today for $3.91. Have him in a 20 gallon long tank to grow out until he can go in with the stingray in the 180 gallon. I am pretty excited about it so I thought I'd share. I'll try to get some pics up later.

they only had 1... Only reason the parents let me pick him up was because I told them he was a mislabeled black aro.
Yup, I've been looking into them for years... I've always wanted one and I finally got the chance to pick one up. He currently devours bloodworms, blackworms, mysid, brine, and small crickets. He is currently in a 20 gallon with sponge filtration kept at 83 degrees F, and he's kept alone until he's large enough to be relatively stable and can go in the 180 gallon with the ray. Then, when he outgrows that tank, between him and the motoro (as well as the reticulated stingray pair, the senegal bichir, and the florida gar I hope to eventually pick up), I have an excellent excuse to upgrade to a pond.
So the little guy officially loves floating color pellets, as well as cichlid gold and betta pellets.
do you parents know they are getting a pond or is it a case off look we have got to do it for the fishes sake? nice plan
more the second, but if I can't do the pond, I'll sell some of the smaller tanks to buy a 96" x 36" x 24" tank.
