I picked this lil W/C Silver Aro that wont eat. He was eating like a champ at the Lfs on only freeze dried krill but wont even take guppies in my tank.
I threw in krill (big and small), feeders and pellets but this dude wont eat.
He is currently bathing in PraziPro with a W/C Orino and Armatus.
Everyone is eating but this dude. He is swimming like crazy and looks healthy but from what I know.... Aros like to eat. Any suggestions??

(Incase you ask, it is an established tank with air and a lot of media..... nothings wrong with the tank:D)

Thanks

did you just get him?....i fed mine freeze dried blood worms, just to get him eating...now he's on shrimp.

How long have you had it? I'm sure it just needs time to settle in. They can be skittish at that size, especially WC and take time to adapt. Congrats, Wes, is this your first aro?

I just got him Friday. I have not seen him eat or does he look like he started eating. He shows no interest in eating... not even feeders:irked:

Here is a pic

If it doesn't eat for a week, than it might be time to worry...just give it a little longer. I just got a 4" WC from Infinite and it took a few days but it's eating krill like a champ now (as long as i keep the pikes out of the way when feeding, lol).

Nice little arm and orino, btw!

yeah give him about a week. it'll take a few days for them to get settled in

does he always stay at the bottom of the tank? maybe the fish aint adjusting yet, like they said wait for a few more days, what i did whit mine is i put some feeder fish and turn off the light in the tank and dim my light room, the next day no more feeders.

He was just swimming next to the tempmates. He usually swims mid to high but does swim to the bottom here and there.
He dont stop swiming thou (good sign:D)

I usually dont worry until its been a couple of weeks.
Thats if everything else seems ok. Swimming, not getting beat up, looking generally alert and healthy.

Just keep feeding normally and he'll get settled enough soon to start eating
