Just picked up an Alta

Just picked up a new pike today. Looks like an Alta to me, what do you guys think?

I think it's a beautiful fish. Great pick up and a great looking alta!

Either Alta or Anthurus if you ask me. They're very similar.

Thanks, she looks a little better in person too. So a question on sexing the Sax. type pikes, do all the females have spots on their dorsal fin? and is that the only way to distinguish sexes when they are not in breeding coloration? I'm going to be keeping my eye out for a male for her soon.

That bright white line that runs through the dorsal fin just inside the tip, plus the white that continues into the tail fin, is the easiest way to tell its a female. Males won't have the white line in the dorsal.
