So i was bored i started looking at some Ich treatments. I noticed Rid Ick as getting alot of positive reviews. Has anyone ever used this? I noticed on the directions to treat every 6 hours after a 20-25% water change. Does that mean a full treatment or just replace the medication removed from the water change?

You are better off using heat and salt to avoid harm to your beneficial bacteria. I have never had ich (ten years, 11 aquariums).

I agree heat is the best action to take for ICK, no meds needed. crank temps above 86 for 3 weeks. or 2 weeks after not seeing any on your fish anymore. Salt can be used. Not sure if it makes a diff as just raising the heat will get rid of it on its own.

Rid-Ick works well if you have a stubborn case.
There seem to be a few strains becoming resistent to elevated heat, and there is the strain some call rift lake ick that, tolerates a more dense chemical environment.
I had a couple wild caught Tanganyikans that arrived a few years back, and carried this more osmotically resistant form, and used Rid-Ick in tandem with heat and salt to wipe it out in the quarantine tank.

The few times that I have had ich in all my years of fish keeping, I used Quick Cure. That is what I would recommend to anyone dealing with ich.
