Shock resistant, shatter-proof, and most importantly doesn't take on water or allow condensation to enter it.

Is this accurate? I have returned 2 Aqueon standard glass heaters 2 different times (4 total) due to condensation on the inside near the electrical components so this is what they sent me on the final run.

Will I be pleased w/ these or is it just another Aqueon headed for the trash can?

Ihsnshaik Ihsnshaik - didn't you tell me before you like these models?

I had my 200 watt Aqueon Pro stop working after about 2yrs of use. I never submerged the dial end or left it powered up during water changes. Upon further investigation it had a seam leak towards the bottom on it's black plastic housing. I emailed aqueon with a scanned copy of my receipt. They mailed me out a new one no questions asked! In the meantime I replaced it with a standard glass aqueon, so I've got the Pro as a spare currently.

I've read mixed reviews on these heaters. Some people stated that the plastic sheath which houses the heating element came apart after awhile. I have 2 that's been running for around 3 years now. They don't seem to be as powerful as the glass type, but I like them

Yes 7-8 years running and mine stopped working last year. Just didn't work didn't get stuck or fry my fish. I contacted company and received payment. The old one I even try to shatter it by throwing it around and it wouldn't. Its spot on in terms of dialing in temp and mine is completely submerged in. I love these heaters.

I always keep my heaters fully submerged, horizontally placed either directly under the filter intake, directly in the flow of the outflow or directly above a bubble-wall so it is virtually never in "standing" water and gets accurate readings.

I have three and they have been fine for over two years now. The warranty and shatter proof case were selling points for me.

I keep mine in my overflow in this position /
Is that bad ?

Thank god for this thread. I've been looking at the 300w aqueon pro heaters myself and the price is £1199....EACH!!! I'm in the uk. This can't be right can it guys.

I picked up one over the summer that just died. I ran it for a week or so at 88 degrees to treat ick. The light just flickers now no matter what the heater setting/tank temp is. I emailed about the warranty and was told I needed the receipt to get it replaced.
