Newcastle England.
Hi there, I just registered with the MFK site.
I am originally from Scotland living in England with my Fiancee' I am a fish keeper (obviously) with a 90 UK gallon tank in my dining room and I have a 2' er in my living room.
I have just Goldfish, fancy goldfish I might add and a few Chinese Algae eating Loaches. My Fiancee' has names for all of them and she treats them like the family we don't have Lol. My filtration is two sun sun cannister filters, each one is in either end of the cabinet under the tank, along with an internal 1000/Lph. In total I have 5000 L/ph of filtration but when media and having them under the cabinet I dare say that it will reduce to 2500 L/ph. Tank is very clear and healthy. No Amms or Nits and I keep my Nats at 15ppm's when my water changes have been done. I will do a change when they reach 30 tops....
Just an average guy with a friend Noddy who is a member here from Holland.
Trying to work my way round the site as it is huge and you have mega members here, so take care everyone.........
Call me Jamie by the way..... :)

WELCOME! lol I see you want some loaches... good choice. lol Botia and clown loaches would be perfect in there, however Clown loaches and botia do better in warmer waters than what gold fish perfer.

Hi Jamie, Perhaps you are from OFL.com? :)

Hi Muffy yes you are correct. Kinda easy to spot, same video, same fish. :)

Thanks for the replies guys. Yes I think that good filtration is the key but I only have 2500 L/ph not the 5000 as the manufacturors say. Once media is in and the filter is under the cabinet you loose about half of the water turnover but 2500 an hour is very good.
I dont use the spray bars on my filters. I think that they slow down the rate. I have the two pipes from the two filters returning to the tank and are just under the surface of the water pointing down at an angle. I have the return on the internal filter pointing up at 45 degrees to allow a strong ripple on the water to aggitate oxygenising.
If anybody has these sun sun cannister filters and uses the spray bars I would welcome all comments on them....... Cheers
