just resealed it with ge 1 silicone i read instructions it says it tacks in 30 mins and cures in 24 hrs. i resealed the inside seams and glued in a glass plate to cover bulkhead holes. i was wondering you alls opinions on when to fill it.

i would say 48 hours to be safe. I just did the exact same things on a 30 gallon and 75 gallon with the same caulk too.

The label suggests it is 100% cured in 24 hours... which is probably accurate...

Personally, I'd give it 48 hours if practical...

I wouls also rinse / wipe down the seams faily well before filling the tank. This is probably being overly cautious, but it's a very simple step to take, so why not.

After waiting 24~48 hours... I would take the tank in the driveway, lay it on it's side and rinse the seams with a hose...

It will be a good opportunity to review each seam with a little bit of pressure on it to allow you to discover a bad spot, if one exists... is the main thing.

In the off chance there is some chemical residue on it, it will rinse it off...

I forgot to mention, while rinsing in the driveway, I wouls also recommend filling it up and letting it sit a while to ensure it doesn't leak...

Not bad advice, however if you are test filling then all of the rinsing probably isnt necessary.

ok gotcha yes that was my plan was to set it back up on the back porch sunday when i return from work and fill it and let it sit all week i did use a piece of 1/4 thick glass to cover the old bulkhead holes it worked excelent thankyou.
