oh.......my............god

this is a life changing video for me (and it should be for you too!), Very scary stuff at an alarming rate.

and a great motivator to become a marine biologist.

i had a flash back the other day of when i was at cornado beach to collect algae sample for my marine bio lab class, i stood at the shoreline with my feet in the water looking toward the sea as the sun set on that partially cloudy day, and asked myself will this or I still be here in the next 50 years.......i wonder.

about an hour ago i was about to turn off my light when i noticed my bulb was a 150 watt incandesent :WHOA: , went to my closet and got an compact flouresent 11 watt light bulb and switched it out :D :headbang2

its a good start no?

Glad to hear it was an enlightening experience for you Del lol

I haven't seen it yet (mostly because I'm aware of global warming and the proof supporting it), but I will get around to it probably this week.

It's funny, because we still haven't had much of a winter here in SoCal (not in the SGV anyways).

It got cold at my dads house though in the Antelope Valley.

It's funny that he says we have only 10 years to change and he has been saying that for 10 years.

I'm old enought to remember being 10 or 11 and they said that by the year 2000 we wouldn't have any oil and we would be living in a new ice age.

The people that are saying that we need to do more study are the same people that make money from the research. They are mainly aiming their efforts at the US and europe. If you want to see polution look at China and Mexico and since they refuse to do anything about thier dumping and air emisions we are all doomed if you listen to the movie.

Follow the money

Repair, did it ever occur to you that perhaps the reason why the things they said would happen 10 years ago didn't because changes were made? When they predict the future they are predicting what would happen if it stays on the same course, typically it never does stay on that course.

But it is just as likely that they were wrong. What happened to all the killer hurricanes that we were going to get this year?

I'm not saying that we should polute the planet but how does only going after the US and europe really help?

Look at the fish that are being killed by polution in Mexico...... they say that certain species will destoyed by the dumping that they are doing. Lets put our effort towards stopping the gross polution of the world by Mexico and China before we try and stop the small (by comparison) polution of the US and europe.

IIRC....Part of the film was him doing the slide show in China. I think he is trying to get the message out globally.

Going where the money is or not, it sure can't hurt to start the process somewhere. Maybe others would follow by example.

I love how Al Gore is the same man who was driving an SUV DURING the making of the video. I love how Al Gore is the same man who does not use alternative energy on ANY of his homes and doesn't use ANY alternative means of transportation. For somebody who preaches we all make changes, he isn't too thrilled to do them himself. Al Gore doesn't care about the environment. He cares about his image, that is all. I wouldn't be surprised if he "suddenly" made himself a candidate for president.

No. that's the simple answer. I'm not gonna change anything I do until these fat cats start doing it. I don't have the money to change the way I live, they do. They can solar panel their entire home, afford new cars. I believe that when the Prime Minister of England came to the United States, he went on and on about how he conserved energy and fuel by taking a commercial jet over a private jet. You know what he did? He took a jumbo jet with 20-30 more people and left 30 seats empty in first class because he didn't want anybody sitting next to him. Screw Al Gore. He can take his oscar and stick it where the sun don't shine.
