I just recently bought this co2 setup including a 5 pound tank with milwaukee regulator, reactor 1000 and a milwaukee ph meter from AROWANABE a memeber here(Thanks Mike).I just wanna show some pic of it:D.I modify my fluval fx5 output hose to.Now I have water flow in each corner of the tank. Also one of the side output flow goes to a reactor 1000 before going to the tank and the other side output flow goes to a turbo twist uv sterlizer then to the tank. What do you guys think?:naughty:

Get rid of the UV, as it will make nutrients less usable, or completely useless for plants.

The uv was only used when I was having algea problem.Other than that I wouldnt use it.But the algea been under control for now.

Not a good thing to use even when you do have algae. Just remove it, as it will cause more problems than it can possibly fix on a planted tank.

Then what its the point of using one?I bought it because of the algea problem I was having and the lfs told me a uv would take care of it.Guess I got screw for $200.Imma just sell it then.

as wyldfya said on a planted tank its worthless, but on other setups its extremely useful. also is it necessary to hav co2 on that lightly planted tank or are you getting more plants?

I getting more plants.those pic are old pic of my tank but there are plenty of plants now.

UV sterilizers only will affect unicellular algae, which is known as green water. This is however the easiest of the alga to get rid of. All the alga that are in planted tanks take far more than a UV to fix.
