I have 2 oscars in a tank ( I've never had oscars before )

Question 1:
Water Temp, I have it at about 29 celcius atm, they seem to be heaps active and more lively then what they where at the LFS.

Question 2:
How often should I feed them, I was going to ask the LFS this, but this LFS is more about money then care, it's not my usual one I go to.

Also

I'm thinking about setting up a 6x3x2 SALTWATER for a shark roughly how much salt and how long would it take to get to the right SALINITY level. I have a rough idea. But I prefer to come to here for advice then to ask one of my LFS because I can trust your answers.

About the saltwater part of your post -
You can't use formulas to determine salinity of your water
You need to use a hydrometer or refractometer to determine the salinity
You need to make sure the water change water is the same salinity as the tank water before doing water changes.
Look around on some nice saltwater forums like reefcentral for more info on how to set up the tank and about the chemistry of the water etc.

For your salt questions I suggest you post here http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=55 as you may get a better volume of answers much faster and specifically to do with sharks. However, you do indeed need a piece of equipment such as a refractometer.

As for your oscar Q's:

1: My books and most net sites point to 22-25, I went for 23/23.5 degrees C as a constant temp when I kept one and it was healthy. 29 is probably a bit high in the long term. Their motabilisms will probably be racing.

2: Depends how large they are. Juvies probably once or twice daily (your choice) until about 6-8" then down to once daily, I fed twice daily until it was killed at approx 4". Once they are adults some people feed daily and others feed every other day.
I have not had oscars until mature but I used to know people who have and they feed daily after the 8" mark, they also fed twice daily until 8". If you have other fish in there that require daily feeding then it is going to be unavoidable.

1. 78 degrees is best.
2. I feed my fish three times a day but smaller amounts. They get their staple pellets in the morning, then they get krill, cichlid bits, cichlids crisps, ect, then at night they get frozen food, worms, or more of tjeir staple food.

Thanks for the answers guys, I'm going to turn down the temperature now.
